1. About EnergyOn

EnergyOn South Africa Pty Ltd operates EnergyOn Sim, a software platform for solar PV, battery and generator savings analysis. This page serves as the outline of the company's PAIA manual and summarises how personal information is processed under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA").

3. The section 10 guide

The Information Regulator has, in terms of section 10(1) of PAIA, published a guide on how to use the Act. The guide is available from the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

4. Categories of records we hold

• Company and statutory records (incorporation, tax, accounting and financial records);
• Customer and subscriber records (accounts, workspaces, subscriptions, invoices, support correspondence);
• Customer-uploaded project data processed on customers' behalf (demand data, tariffs, site and proposal information);
• Audit logs of administrative and support access to customer workspaces;
• Personnel and contractor records;
• Operational records (suppliers, service providers, marketing).

5. How to request access to a record

• Complete PAIA Form 02 (Request for Access to Record), available from the Information Regulator's website;
• Send it to the Information Officer at hello [at] energyon [dot] co [dot] za, identifying the record, the right you seek to exercise or protect, and your preferred form of access;
• The prescribed request and access fees under PAIA may apply;
• We will respond within 30 days as required by the Act.

6. Processing of personal information (POPIA summary)

The purposes for which we process personal information, the categories of data subjects and recipients, planned cross-border transfers, and our security measures are described in our Privacy Policy. Data subjects may request access, correction or deletion of their personal information, object to processing, and lodge complaints with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za · complaints.IR [at] inforegulator [dot] org [dot] za.
